Description of key information

The test on the flammability according to Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 method A.10 was not performed as the test item is a liquid at 20°C and 1013 hPa. For liquids the primary valuee for ease of ignition is the flash point conducted using Method A9 ‘Flash Point Method’ of Council Regulation (EC) No 440/2008. The result of the Flash Point test is used to allocate a liquid substance into the appropriate flammability class.
In accordance with Annex XI Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (REACH), the test on flammability in contact with water does not need to be conducted as the substance shows no reaction with water. This based on the experience in handling and use. In addition no reaction in contact with water was reported in the water solubility studies.
In accordance with Annex XI Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (REACH), the test on pyrophoric abilities does not need to be conducted as the substance in not flammable and shows no reaction with the air. This based on the experience in handling and use.

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the flash point of 74°C the auto-ignition temperature of 205 °C and experience in handling and use, the substance was not classified and labelled as flammable, flammable in contact with water and pyrophoric according to Directive 67/548/EEC (DSD) and Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP).
