Description of key information
The flash point of 1,6-dichlorohexane was determined to be 74°C at 1013 hPa.

Additional information
The flash point of 1,6-dichlorohexane was consistently reported from different literature sources to be 73 -77°C. The flash point as reported in Knovel Critical tables second Edition originates from an experimental study according to Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 method A.9 and EPA OPPTS 830.6315. In addition an estimation using QSAR method was done using ACD Labs software. The flash point of 1,6-dichlorohexane was calculated to be also 74°C. Thus the result of the key study is regarded as reliable and 74°C was chosen as key parameter.
