Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Surface tension:
44.2
in mN/m at 20°C and concentration in mg/L:
280

Additional information

In the key study, the surface tension of aqueous solutions of the test item was determined according to OECD guideline no. 115 [adopted on 27 July 1995] and EU test method A.5 [Directive 92/69/EEC, Officia Journal L 383 A 1992] with the ring method.

A test item concentration of 90% of critical micelle concentration was applied (0.28 g/L). The test item is considered to be surface active.

In the supporting study (Koelzer, 1971), a similar value had been determined: 55.64 mN/m at 22°C , 0.01 molar in 0.1 n potassium chloride solution.
