Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.17 (Oxidising Properties (Solids))
GLP compliance:
no
Specific details on test material used for the study:
Name: Monalazone Disodium
Lot No. Purity Manufactured date Expiry Date

Contact with:
powdered cellulose
Key result
Sample tested:
other: 2:1 (test item : cellulose) by weight
Parameter:
preliminary test
Remarks on result:
slow smouldering

There was no vigorous reaction observed when the cone shaped pile of the mixture of test item and cellulose (in the ration of 2:1) was ignited duringthe preliminary test. On applying the flame, the mixture appeared to catch fire which subsequently doused off and the mixture got smoldered. Since, no vigorous reaction was observed, the test item was considered as non-oxidizing and the full train test was not performed.

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
The mixture of test item, Monalazone disodium and cellulose in the ration of 2:1 got smoldered when ignited and no vigorous reaction was observed. Hence, the test item, Monalazone disodium is considered to be ‘non-oxidising’.
Executive summary:

The determination of oxidizing properties of test item, Monalazone disodium was carried out in accordance with EEC A.17.

The mixture of test item, Monalazone disodium and cellulose in the ration of 2:1 got smoldered when ignited and no vigorous reaction was observed. Hence, the test item, Monalazone disodiumis considered to be ‘non-oxidising’

Description of key information

Non-oxidising (> 99% monalazone disodium; EC A.17)
