Endpoint:
flammable solids
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
29th November 2018 - 15 December 2018
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.10 (Flammability (Solids))
GLP compliance:
no
Specific details on test material used for the study:
Name: Monalazone Disodium
Lot No. Purity Manufactured date Expiry Date
72617S >99% excluding water 7/26/2017 2/1/2019
Key result
Test procedure:
burning rate test: preliminary screening test
Remarks on result:
substance does not ignite and propagate combustion either by burning with flame or smouldering along 200 mm of the powder train within the 2 minutes test period
Interpretation of results:
not classified based on GHS criteria
Conclusions:
The results of the study revealed that the test item, Monalazone Disodium was non-flammable.
Executive summary:

The determination of flammability of Monalazone Disodium was carried out in accordance with EEC A.10. The results of the preliminary study indicated that on applying the flame from a gas burner with a diameter of 14 mm to the test item powder train for 2 min., the test item did not ignite but it started to smoulder and eventually got charred. There was no propagation of combustion either by burning with flame or smoldering over the 200 mm of the powder train within 4 min. Hence the burning rate test was not carried out. The preliminary test of the study revealed that the test item, Monalazone Disodium to be non-flammable.

Description of key information
