The chemical safety assessment revealed that direct and indirect exposure of soil and terrestrial enviroment is practically negligible, as:

1) Methyl-ethylketone peroxide is manufactured and formulated in completely closed systems. Thus, direct and indirect exposure of soil and the terrestrial environment during manufacturing and formulation is practically negligible.

2) Methyl-ethylketone is not coming in contact with final consumers, because substance is chemical bounding completely during industrial polymerisation process. Therefore, the direct and indirect release of methyl-ethylketone peroxide to soil and terrestrial environment is practically negligible.

Therefore, direct and indirect exposure of methyl-ethylketone peroxide to soil and the terrestrial environment is unlikely and performance of tests for toxicity to soil micro- and macroorganisms, arthropods, terrestrial plants and birds are scientifically not justified.

For more details on exposure assessment see risk assessment report in section 13.
