Description of key information

The test item is readily biodegradable.

Additional information

Two determinations of the biodegradability of methyl-ethylketone peroxide were performed according to OECD 301B and 301D, respectively. Methyl-ethylketone peroxide is evaluated as readily biodegradable in the CO2 Evolution Test and in the closed bottle test. Thus, determination of the hydrolysis as a function of pH of methyl-ethylketone peroxide is scientifically unjustified and not required under REACH.

Bioaccumulation potential was estimated with by applying logPow of 0.3 and 2.04 for the monomer and dimer, respectively. The bioaccumulation factor (BCF) was calculated to be 3.2 L/kg and 9.7 L/kg (monomer and dimer, respectively).
