Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

According to the publication by Schumb et al. (1955) the recommended freezing point of pure hydrogen peroxide (100% w/w) is -0.43 °C at atmospheric pressure. This value is supported by information provided in other handbooks (Goor et al. 1989, Lide 2005). In the hydrogen peroxide - water system, the freezing point of each component is depressed by the addition of the other. Mixtures of hydrogen peroxide and water with a fraction of hydrogen peroxide between 45 and 60% exhibit a freezing point below -50 °C. An aqueous solution of hydrogen peroxide (35% w/w) has an approximate freezing point of -33 °C, an aqueous solution of hydrogen peroxide (49.9%) has an approximate freezing point of -55 °C.
