Description of key information

Soil macroorganisms (except arthropds)

Experiments in soil were conducted only with the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans. The most sensitive NOECs determined for growth and reproduction were 12500 and 1563 mg/kg dry soil, respectively.

Terrestrial plants

No overall NOEC for terrestrial plants is assessable, because in the studies with the most sensitive data only LC50 and EC50 values were determined, not NOECs. As the most sensitive value (EC50(growth): 4 g/kg soil dw) was seen with a type A zeolite on Raphanus sativus, the actual NOEC for zeolites is lower than 4 g/kg soil dw.
