75-77 °C

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A literature review was conducted. In a weight of evidence approach the literature values were evaluated. The REAXYS handbook reports 13 independent entries. The melting range of the substance was reported to be in range from 68-78 °C. The HSDB database (Merck 1996) reports the melting point to be 74.5 °C. Furthermore the Knovel Critical Tables reports the melting point to be in range of 73-75 °C. In addition the Handbook of Environmental Data on Organic Chemicals reports the melting point to be 71-73 °C. Five independent literature sources report the melting point in the same melting range. Thus, a range of 75-77 °C was chosen as key value for chemical safety assessment.
