Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Auto flammability testing could have been waived in accordance with the restrictions in the Corrigendum to Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 of the European parliament and of the council of 18 December 2006 concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH), Annex VII, 7.12., p L 136/105, column 2, published 2007-05-29 in the Official Journal of the European Union. The flash point of the submission item is above the cut-off value of 200 °C (Tremain & Atwal 2011, Harlan Report no. 41103264). As the determined value of 201.42 ± 2 °C is close to the limit, an experimental approach was considered.

The auto-ignition temperature was determined in a GLP-compliant study (Tremain & Atwal 2011, Harlan Report no. 41103264) by heating aliquots of the submission item in a flask and observing for any ignition according to the EU A.15 (2008) protocol. The experiment is deemed valid, conclusive and thus suitable for assessment without restrictions. The auto-ignition temperature was determined to be 272 ± 5 °C.
