Additional information

Skin Irritation

The skin irritation was evaluated in a study according to B.4 of ANNEX V (EU test guidelines) with 3 New Zealand white rabbits. 500mg Chiguard 380/Chiguard 380W was applied to the test sites of each rabbit for 4 hours. All animals were examined for signs of erythema and oedema, and the responses scored at 24, 48 and 72 hours after patch removal. At all observation periods erythema and oedema scores 0.

Eye Irritation

The eye irritation was evaluated in a study according to 16 CFR 150 with 3 New Zealand white rabbits. 31.1mg Chiguard 380/Chiguard 380W was applied to the animal. All animals were examined for signs of cornea, iris, conjunctivae and chemosis. The mean score of conjunctivae is 0.17 at 72 hours. And the other mean score were all 0.

Justification for classification or non-classification

From the skin irritation/corrosion study, erythema and oedema scores 0 at all observation periods, so it can be concluded Chiguard 380/Chiguard 380W (CAS# 18600-59-4) does not need to be classified for skin irritation/corrosion according to the criteriadescribed in Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 and 67/548/EEC.

From the eye irritation study, it can be concluded Chiguard 380/Chiguard 380W (CAS# 18600-59-4) does not need to be classified for eye irritating according to the criteriadescribed in Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 and 67/548/EEC.
