Additional information

Acute toxicity data are available for three trophic levels (fish, daphnia, and algae). To consider the toxicity of the test substance in a sewage treatment plant, toxicity data regarding microorganisms are also reported.

Oncorhynchus mykiss was used in an acute toxicity experiment conducted according to92/69/EC, Annex V, C1 method. After an exposure of 96 hours, an LC50 of 83 mg/L was determined.

The toxicity experiments on aquatic invertebrates were performed with Daphnia magna. After an exposure time of 48 hours, an EC50 greater than 100 mg/L is reported.

Concerning toxicity to algae of test substance one study was conducted according to 92/69/EC, part c, C3. After 72 hours exposure the following results were obtained: EC50 > 100 mg/L and NOEC > 100 mg/L. Results were based on growth rate.

The last valid available study which can be reported regarding aquatic toxicity refers to microorganisms. The materials used in an experiment are not provided and the test method was concerning the guideline OECD 209. In this growth inhibition study an IC50 > 100 mg/L was observed after 3 hours exposure duration.
