Additional information

The acute toxicities of 3 representative aquatic species are tested, therefore PNEC in freshwater compartment and marine compartment can be derived by assessment factors. PNECs in sediment of fresh water, sediment of marine water or soil will be extrapolated by PNEC in freshwater compartment.

Conclusion on classification

The acute toxicity of Chiguard 380/Chiguard 380W to the most sensitive species Daphnia in an acute toxicity study EC50(48hr): >0.27 mg/l. >0.27 mg/l is equivalent to => 100 mg/l as WAF. Poorly soluble substances for which no acute toxicity is recorded at levels up to the water solubility, and which are not rapidly degradable and have an experimentally determined BCF500(or, if absent, a LogKow4),indicating a potential to bioaccumulate ,will be classified in Chronic Category 4 unless other scientific evidence exists showing classification to be unnecessary.

Therefore, Chiguard 380/Chiguard 380W can be classified into chronic category 4 in CLP regulation and R53 in DSD regulation respectively.
