Short Term Toxicity to fish

Study was conducted to access the effect of test chemical to fish Danio rerio. Test conducted according to OECD Guideline 203 (Fish, Acute Toxicity Test). The test concentrations selected for the test was9 mg/L, 9.8 mg/L, 11 mg/L, 12.5 mg/L, 17.5 mg/L, 22.5 mg/L, 25 mg/L, 50 mg/L & 100mg/L.Zebra FishDanio reriowere exposed to these concentration for 96 hours.

Bowl aquaria containing 2 liters of potable water (passed through reverse osmosis system) were loaded with 8 fishes. A static procedure was used for the study and it was conducted in compliance with the OECD guideline 203. After 96 hours of exposure to test item to various nominal test concentrations, LC50 was determine to be <11 mg/L. As the test chemical is readily biodegradable it cannot be classified as per CLP criteria.

Long term toxicity to fish:

The test was performed to access the effect of test chemical on the fish for the period of 28 days. the NOEC was predicted by using ECOSAR 1.11. the results predicted as 0.356 mg/L. As the chemical in readily biodegradable it cannot be classified as per CLP criteria.

Short term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates:

The study outlines the effects of test chemial on Daphnia magna for the period of 24 h. the experiment was conducted inaccordance with OECD 202 guidelines. The test concentrations selected was ranging between 0 -360 mg/L. the median effetcive concentration of the test chemical to daphnia magna is 151 ± 13 mg/L.

As the chemical in readily biodegradable it cannot be classified as per CLP criteria.

Long term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates:

he study outlines the predection of the test chenical to daphnia magna for the period of 21.0 days. the experiment was run for the period of 21 days. The NOEC of the test chemical to daphnia magna was predicted to be 5.386 mg/L.

As the chemical in readily biodegradable it cannot be classified as per CLP criteria.

Toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria

The effect of test substance was studied on the growth of fresh water green algaChlorella vulgaris.The study was conducted following OECD guideline 201- Alga growth inhibition test. The test concentration chosen for the study were 6.25 mg/L, 12.5 mg/L, 25 mg/L, 50 mg/L, 100 mg/L & 200 mg/L were prepared using stock solution of the test substance using de-ionized water. The green alga was exposed to the test concentration for a period of 72 hours to observe average specific growth rate and % growth inhibition under the effect of test substance. EC10 calculated from probit analysis was determined to be 3.78 mg/L. As the test chemical is readily biodegradable, it cannont be classified as per CLP criteria.

Toxicity to microorganisms

The study was conducted to evaluate the toxic effects of the test chemical on the microorganism Tetrahynema pyriformis. The test was conducted for the period of 40-h in static conditions. Five different concentrations were taken to evaluate the ICG 50, median inhibition growth concentration. Test was conducted in the replicates and the growth inhibition was recorded using spectrophotometrically.Based on the results obtained from the experiment the ICG 50 range was from0.102 mg/L.

The test concentrations selected was ranging between 0 -360 mg/L. the median effetcive concentration of the test chemical to daphnia magna is 151 ± 13 mg/L.

Another two studies from authoritative database outlines the effect of the test chemical on the daphnia magna for the period of 48 h. the test was conducted in accordance with OECD 202 guidelines. The median lethal concentration of the test chemical to daphnia magna was determined to be 46.3 and >50 mg/L.

The was conducted based on the OECD guidelines 211. A range of test concentration was selected from 3.13 to 50.0 mg/L with geometric ratio of 2. the test was conducted for the period of 21.0 days in the flow through system. Based on the outcomes median effective concentration of the test chemical on reproduction capacity daphnia magna was 17.6 mg/L.

Another study from the same authoritative database outlines the effect of the test chemical on the reproduction of daphnia magna. The test was conducted in accordance with OECD 211 guidelines. The test was conduced for the period of 21 days and median effective concentration of the test chemial was determied to be >46.0 mg/L.
