Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The test substance partly dissociates in the presence of water. Due to the structural properties, hydrolysis of the remaining molecule part is not expected.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The test substance is a salt whose sodium and chlorine atoms dissociate in presence of water to Na+ and Cl- from the remaining molecule under environmentally relevant conditions (pH 5 to 9). According to Kollig et al. (1993), Boethling & Mackay (2000) and Harris (1990) the other part of the molecule does not contain any functional groups sensitive to hydrolysis. Therefore, a study on the hydrolysis behavior of the test substance is not considered necessary.
