Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

According to Regulation (EC) No.1907/2006, Annex VIII, Column 2, adsorption/desorption testing need not be conducted 1) if, based on the physicochemical properties the substance can be expected to have a low potential for adsorption (e.g., the substance has a low octanol water partition coefficient); or 2) if the substance and its degradation products decompose rapidly. The substance has an octanol water partition coefficient (log Kow= 2.93) which is below the threshold of concern for adsorption potential (log Kow> 3).  Additionally, the substance has been shown to be readily biodegradable. Therefore, adsorption/desorption testing is not indicated.

A calculated value for the adsorption coefficient of the substance (log Koc = 2.73) was derived in a supporting study, based on a published equation and the experimentally-derived key value for octanol-water partition coefficient log Kow= 2.93).
