VEHICLE CONTROL PERFORMED: yes
Reference substance (positive control):
yes
Remarks:
Potassium dichromate
Key result
Duration:
48 h
Dose descriptor:
EC50
Effect conc.:
> 194.6 mg/L
Nominal / measured:
nominal
Conc. based on:
test mat.
Basis for effect:
mobility
Details on results:
During test duation the test article concentrations in the analysed test media were in the range of 101.2 -109.0 % of the nominal values. Therefore under the test conditions the test article was sufficiently stable.
In all test concentrations no alteration of the test substance after 48 hours was observed. In the control and in the test concentrations up to 107.3 mg/L no immobilization of the daphnids was observed after 48 hours. Therefore, EC50 value could not be calculated. The EC0 value is at least ≥ 107.3 mg/L. The EC50 and EC100 values are higher than 194.6 mg/L.
Results with reference substance (positive control):
Potassium dichromate (EC50: 0.96 mg/L)
Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Conclusions:
The EC50 values were reported to be higher than 194.6 mg/L.
Executive summary:

The acute toxicity of FAT 92349/A to Daphnia magna was determined in a 48-hour static test according to the OECD Guideline 202 and EU Method C.2. The nominal concentrations tested were 0 (Control), 10, 18, 32, 58, 100 and 180 mg/L. The reported results are related to the analytical concentrations of the test article. During test duration the test article concentrations in the analysed test media were in the range of 101.2 - 109.0 % of the nominal values. Therefore, under test conditions the test article was sufficiently stable. In all test concentrations no alteration of the test substance after 48 hours was observed. In the control and in the test concentrations up to 107.3 mg/L no immobilization of the daphnids was observed after 48 hours. Therefore, EC50 value could not be calculated. Hence, the EC0 value is at least 107.3 mg/L and the EC50 values were reported to be higher than 194.6 mg/L.
