Key result
Test procedure:
burning rate test: preliminary screening test
Remarks on result:
substance does not ignite and propagate combustion either by burning with flame or smouldering along 200 mm of the powder train within the 2 minutes test period

Findings:

Safety Pre-Test: A small amount of the test item was heated on a magnesia groove with a gas burner. Glowing was observed. The test item showed no signs of ignition.

Preliminary screening test: The test item was heated with the flame of a teclu burner. Glowing was observed during heating. No ignition occurred within two minutes.

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
No ignition was observed throughout the course of the test. The test item FAT 92349/B should be considered as not highly flammable.
Executive summary:

The flammability of the test item was evaluated in a study conducted according to EU Method A.10. In this study, the test item was formed into an unbroken strip or powder train about 250 mm long. The pile was arranged at right angle to the draught in the fume cupboard. The flame of the gas burner was used to ignite the pile at one end. A stop watch was held ready. No ignition was observed throughout the course of the test. Hence, the test item FAT 92349/B should be considered as not highly flammable.

Description of key information

The flammability of the test item was evaluated in a study conducted according to EU Method A.10. In this study, the test item was formed into an unbroken strip or powder train about 250 mm long. The pile was arranged at right angle to the draught in the fume cupboard. The flame of the gas burner was used to ignite the pile at one end. A stop watch was held ready. Since ignition did not occur within two minutes, the test item was classified as not highly flammable and no determination of burning rate was necessary.

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

As no ignition was observed in the preliminary test, the substance does not warrant a classification under CLP (1272/2008) Regulation.
