The aerobic biological degradation of the test item was estimated in a screening test according to OECD guideline 301F. Degradation rate was followed by monitoring the oxygen consumption in the test medium. The test item showed a degradation rate of 78% BSB/CSB within 28 days and fulfilled the OECD criteria for ready biodegradability (60 % degradation within 14 days). Depending on this results, the test item was estimated readily biodegradable (Henkel, 1997).
