Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Short-term toxicity to fish

For transported isolated intermediates according to REACh, Article 18, this endpoint is not a data requirement. However, data is available for this endpoint and is thus reported under the guidance of "all available data".

Generally, following values have been reported for the LC50 after 96h exposure time:

LC50 96h: 1.0 - 4.8 mg/L

Long-term toxicity to fish

For transported isolated intermediates according to REACh, Article 18, this endpoint is not a data requirement. However, data is available for this endpoint and is thus reported under the guidance of "all available data".

Generally, following values have been reported for the long-term toxicity to fish:

NOEC: 0.04 - 0.5 mg/L

LOEC: 0.18 mg/L

The values were obtained with respect to different guidelines and exposure times.

Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates

Weight of Evidence: The EC50/LC50 values obtained from these studies are in the same order of magnitude.

48h-EC50: 1.4 - 50.2 mg/L

The most conservative EC50 of 1.4 mg/l (NITE, 2009) was obtained after 48h.

Long-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates

For transported isolated intermediates according to REACh, Article 18, this endpoint is not a data requirement. However, data is available for this endpoint and is thus reported under the guidance of "all available data".

Generally, following NOEC values have been reported for the long-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates:

NOEC: 0.064 - 0.7 mg/L

Toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria

Weight of Evidence: The EC50 and NOEC values obtained from these studies are in the same order of magnitude.

72h-EC50: 1.46 - 32 mg/L

72h-NOEC: 2.2 mg/L

96h-EC50: 1.4 mg/L

96h-NOEC: 0.37 - 1.46 mg/L

The most conservative EC50 of 1.4 mg/l (Calamari et al., 1983) and NOEC value of 0.37 mg/L (Calamari et al., 1983) were both obtained after 96h.

Toxicity to microorganisms

For transported isolated intermediates according to REACh, Article 18, this endpoint is not a data requirement. However, data is available for this endpoint and is thus reported under the guidance of "all available data".

Generally, following EC50 values have been reported for the toxicity to microorganisms:

EC50: 0.91 - 500 mg/L

The values were obtained under different test conditions. It is not always stated whether and which guideline was used.

Toxicity to other aquatic invertebrates

For transported isolated intermediates according to REACh, Article 18, this endpoint is not a data requirement. However, data is available for this endpoint and is thus reported under the guidance of "all available data".

Studies were performed in different test species (Tetrahymena pyriformisan, Branchiostoma caribaeum, Artemia salina, Tanytarsus dissmilis, Aplexa hypnorum), with varying exposure times and revealed following values:

EC50: 0.91 - 3.16 mg/L

LC0: 1.5 mg/L

LC100: 10 mg/L
