Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

EU Risk Assessment (2003):

The reported EC50 values range between 127 mg/kg (Neuhauser et al., 1986) and 290 mg/kg (Ballhorn et al., 1984).

The toxicity to earthworms was studied using the OECD artificial soil test. In the same study, contact tests were performed in which LC50 values of 23 -27µg/cm2 were observed (Neuhauser et al., 1986). In a study on Eisenia foetida over 14 days, an EC50 was observed at 290 mg/kg soil dry weight. The EC0 was 100 mg/kg. The substance was applied dissolved in acetone and nominal concentrations used in the effect estimations (Ballhorn et al., 1984).

BUA report (1987):

In a study on filter paper 1,2,4-TCB was found to be very toxic toEisenia foetida. The LC50 ranged between 10 - 100 µg/cm² (Neuhauser et al., 1986).

In an OECD-Guideline study following results were found: LC0 = 125 mg/kg, LC50 = 250-500 mg/kg and LC100 = 500 mg/kg (Broecker et al., 1984).

Description of key information

For transported isolated intermediates according to REACh, Article 18, this endpoint is not a data requirement. However, data is available for this endpoint and is thus reported under the guidance of "all available data".
