An instrument was used to determine automatically the vapour pressure for a range of temperatures. The principle of the instrument is based on the measurement of the vapour pressure after creating the vacuum. The vacuum in the cilinder was produced by expansion of a piston after the introduction of the sample and closing of the inlet valve.
