Additional information

No skin irritation or ocular irritation effects of Diesel Fuel were seen in rabbits –an acknowledged test system for dermal and occular irritation effects of chemical substances.

Diesel Fuel is a flammable, liquid substance, not soluble in water, with very low vapour pressure.

Diesel Fuel is an industrial chemical which is not available to general public (consumers).

Exposure to Diesel Fuel vapour/aerosol/mist is relevant in occupational settings. However, it is considered a general industrial practice to wear skin, eye and face protective equipment to prevent contact with chemicals, and to use appropriate engineering controls and work practices to reduce employee exposure to the lowest level achievable. Additionally, respiratory protection should be used to supplement the engineering controls and work practices where exposures to high levels of airborne Diesel Fuel are unavoidable.

Appropriate skin and eye protection is a part of the Guidance on safe Use of Diesel Fuel recommended in this CSR.
