Description of key information

At neutral pH (pH 7) hydrolysis of the reference substance with a half-life of 41.9 days was observed following a pseudo first order kinetics over time.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Half-life for hydrolysis:
41.9 d
at the temperature of:
25 °C

Additional information

The assessment of hydrolytic stability of the test compound was carried out using a procedure designed to be compatible with Method C7 Abiotic Degradation, Hydrolysis as a Function of pH of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008 and Method 111 of the OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals, 13 April 2004.

Tier 2 tests at pH 4 and pH 7 demonstrated that degradation/losses of test item do not follow typical temperature dependency. Thus the Arrhenius relationship could not be applied to extrapolate the half-lives to 25 °C and additional testing was performed at pH 4 and pH 7 at 25 °C over an extended period of 28 days).

The results are as follows:

pH 4 Estimated half-life at 25 °C is 82.4 days

pH 7 Estimated half-life at 25 °C is 41.9 days

pH 9 Estimated half-life at 25 °C is 407 days
