Additional information
This study was conducted in order to collect data necessary to fulfill Type III Monitoring Chemical Substance newly provided in the act (49th of 2003 Act, referred to as Amendment Act) based on the test method stipulated in "On the Test Method Related to New Chemical Substances" and the test method stipulated in "On the Test Method for Hazard Research Related to Type III Monitoring Chemical Substance" in accordance with Standard of Test Facility Implementing Test Related to New Chemical Substance. 0.63, 0.95, 1.42, 2.13, 3.20 and 4.80 mg/L were administrated to juvenile daphnia magna. Based on the test result, the EC50 (48h) and NOEC was 1.87 mg/L and 1.15 mg/L (measured concentrations) respectively.
In a supporting study, daphnia magna were exposed to 1.0, 1.8, 3.2, 5.8, 10, 18, 32, 58 and 100 mg/L for 24 hours. The EC50 was established at 12.9 mg/L in this test based on nominal concentrations. No analytical verification was performed, although undissolved particles were observed at all concentrations. Thus, this study is of limited relevance for hazard and risk assessment.
