Additional information

Biodegradation in water:

The test substance chloro-cyano-p-tolyl-imidazole was investigated for biodegradation by microorganisms in two studies. For one study the data submitter is data owner and this study was reported in more detail (see endpoint study record). In both available studies the biodegradation of chloro-cyano-p-tolyl-imidazole was regarded to be 0% after 28 days.

Biodegradation in soil:

The test substance chloro-cyano-p-tolyl-imidazole was investigated for biodegradation soil in one study.

Half-life time values for aerobic soil metabolism determined in three different soils ranged between 0.9 and 3.6 days.

Adsorption and desorption:

Adsorption and desorption coefficients (kd and koc in L Kg-1) for chloro-cyano-p-tolyl-imidazole were determined in one study. In this study coefficients were determined in four different soils. Values for kd ranged between 3.91 and 23.57. Values for koc ranged between 475 and 1158.

Environmental data:

Estimated concentrations of CCIM in drinking water are 2.4 ppb (acute value) and 1.0 ppb (chronic value) (EPA; 2004).
