Conclusion on classification

Short-term aquatic toxicity data are available for three trophic levels (fish, invertebrates and algae) for fresh- and saltwater species. The lowest acute effect values for fish (Leiostomus xanthurus), aquatic invertebrates (Mysidopsis bahia) and algae (Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata) are 2.6 mg/L, 0.51 mg/L and 9 mg/L, respectively. As the lowest value for invertebrate is below 1 mg/L, the substance needs to be classified as Aquatic Acute 1 (H400), with an M-factor of 1, in accordance with EU Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures (CLP) Regulation No. 1272/2008.


 


Long-term aquatic toxicity data are available for three trophic levels (fish, invertebrates and algae) for fresh- and saltwater species. The lowest chronic effect values for fish (Cyprinodon variegatus), invertebrates (Mysidopsis bahia) and algae (Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata) are 0.068 mg/L, 0.114 mg/L and 0.46 mg/L, respectively. Regarding the adequate chronic aquatic toxicity data (0.01 mg/L < lowest value ≤ 0.1 mg/L) and the substance being not readily biodegradable, the substance needs to be classified as Aquatic Chronic 1 (H410) with an M-factor 1, in accordance with EU Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures (CLP) Regulation No. 1272/2008.


 


In conclusion, the substance is classified as Aquatic Acute 1 (H400) and Aquatic Chronic 1 (H410), with an M-factor of 1 for acute and chronic hazard, in accordance with EU Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures (CLP) Regulation No. 1272/2008.
