Description of key information

The substance is not readily biodegradable according to a 28-day OECD TG 301B study.

The DT50 of the substance in freshwater was determined to be 78.29 days under aerobic conditions based on an OECD TG 309 study.

Three simulation studies on the biodegradation in water and sediment are available. The effect values from the study followed standard test conditions and were used in a weight-of-evidence approach for the CSA. The geometric mean DT50 in two different freshwater systems (river and pond) was determined to be 555 days under aerobic conditions.

Fourteen studies are available for biodegradation in soil: simulation tests endpoint. The effect values from seven standard test conditions followed studies were used in a weight-of-evidence approach for the CSA. The geometric mean DT50 in soil (n=11) was determined to be 68.3 days under aerobic conditions at 20 ˚C.
