Principles of method if other than guideline:
6-24 d old Daphnia magna were exposed to the test substance in a static system for a duration of 24 h. The exposure doses were equivalent to 0, 300, 400 and 500 mg/L (nominal). The positive control potassium dichromate was tested in parallel at 0.75, 1.0, 1.25, 1.50, 1.75, 2.0, 3.0 and 5.0 mg/L. There were 5 Daphnia per 10 mL vessel and 4 vessels per test concentration.

The number of immobile Daphnia was recorded at 24 h. Oxygen concentration, pH and temperature were measured in each of the test vessels.
