Conclusion on classification

The environmental classification of T002102 is currently not harmonized according to the CLP Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 and the Dangerous Substance Directive 67/548/EC.

Based on available acute aquatic toxicity data, the lowest valid effect concentration for freshwater aquatic organisms is 24 mg/L (ErC50 for algae). Long-term studies are not available. A biodegradation study was performed equivalent to OECD guideline 301F under GLP conditions (Peither, 2002). No biodegradation was observed with the test substance after 28 days (DOC removal). The results support the conclusion that the biodegradation of T002102 is slow. Therefore, T002102 is considered not readily biodegradable. Based on the results of this study T002102 is considered to be a persistent substance.

Therefore, it should be classified for Acute or Chronic toxicity for the aquatic environment according to Annex 1 (section 4.1.2.6) of the CLP Regulation. Based on the same criteria the substance should be classified for the environment under the Dangerous Substance Directive 67/548/EC (see Annex VI section 5.2.1.2).
