Short term aquatic toxicity

Fish

Key Study:

In an OECD 203 study, according to GLP, exposure of fathead minnow to the test item gave LL50 values of greater than 100 mg/L loading rate WAF. The No Observed Effect Loading Rate was 100 mg/L loading rate WAF.(Envigo Research Limited, Ltd, 2018).

Invertebrates

Key Study:

In an OECD 202 study, conducted according to GLP, the acute toxicity of the test item to the freshwater invertebrate Daphnia magna was investigated and the 48-hour EL50 value was determined to be greater than 100 mg/L loading rate WAF. The No Observed Effect Loading rate (NOEL) was 100 mg/L loading rate WAF (Envigo Research Limited, Ltd, 2018).

Algae

Key Study:

In an OECD 201 study, conducted according to GLP, the effect of the test item on the growth of Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata was investigated and the 72 hour EL50 values based on growth rate, yield and biomass were determined to be greater than 100 mg/L loading rate WAF. The No Observed Effect Loading rate (NOEL) was 100 mg/L loading rate WAF (Envigo Research Limited, Ltd, 2018).

Micro-organisms

Key Study:

In an OECD 209 study, conducted according to GLP, no effects of the test item were observed on the respiration of activated sewage sludge following a 3 hour exposure, resulting in an EC50 value of greater than 1000 mg/L. The No Observed Effect Concentration (NOEC) following the 3-hour exposure was 1000 mg/LWAF (Envigo Research Limited, Ltd, 2018).
