Description of key information
Appearance (Color, Physical State and Odor)
Yellow soft coarse powder at 20 °C by visual assessment. Designed to be compatible with Methods 830.6302, 830.8303 and 830.6304 of the OCSPP Guidelines, August 1996.
The odor was not determined as it could not be confirmed definitively at the time the study was conducted that performing the odor determination would not present a hazard to study personnel.
Melting/Freezing Point
Decomposition observed beginning at approximately 219 °C (492 K) prior to melting at 258 ± 1 °C (531 ± 1 K) by differential scanning calorimetry and visual assessment, designed to be compatible with Method A.1 Melting/Freezing Temperature of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008, Method 102 of the OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals, 27 July 1995 and Method 830.7200 of the OCSPP Guidelines, March 1998.
Boiling Point
As the test item decomposed prior to melting, the boiling point was not determined.
Density
1.54 x 103 kg/m3 at 21.0 ± 0.5 °C, relative density 1.54, using a gas comparison pycnometer, designed to be compatible with Method A.3 Relative Density of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008, Method 109 of the OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals, 02 October 2012 and Method 830.3000 of the OCSPP Guidelines, June 2002.
Surface Tension
The surface tension was not determined according to a procedure designed to be compatible with Method A.5 Surface Tension of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008 and Method 115 of the OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals, 27 July 1995 since the water solubility was determined to be less than 1 mg/L. The method guidelines states that substances with a water solubility less than 1 mg/L need not be tested for surface tension.
Water Solubility
Less than 5.28 x 10-5 g/L of solution at 20.0 ± 0.5 °C, using the flask method, designed to be compatible with Method A.6 Water Solubility of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008, Method 105 of the OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals, 27 July 1995 and Method 830.7840 of the OCSPP Guidelines, Match 1998.
Partition Coefficient (n-octanol/water)
In the range 1.74 x 106 to 1.89 x 107, log10 Pow 6.24 to 7.28, using the HPLC method, designed to be compatible with Method A.8 Partition Coefficient of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008, Method 117 of the OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals, 13 April 2004 and Method 830.7570 of the OCSPP Guidelines, August 1996. The vapor pressure of the test item has been determined to be 1.0 x 10-13Pa at 25 °C, using the vapor pressure balance method, designed to be compatible with Method A.4 Vapour Pressure of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008 and Method 104 of the OECD Guidelines for Testing of Chemicals, 23 March 2006.
