Description of key information

No method is available for the determination of the Pow of the registered substance. The key value for chemical safety assessment is the log Pow of the solid content of the registered substance, which was determined to be -2.31 at 25°C.

The partition coefficient of a freeze dried sample of the substance, representing the solid content of the registered substance, was determined with the slow stirring method, in accordance with OECD 123.

In addition the estimation method was applied for the determination of the partition coefficient (Pow) of the solid content of the substance, using the in water determined critical micelle concentration (CMC) and the n-octanol solubility. The Pow value at 20°C was determined to be ≥ 2.06E+3 (corresponding with a log Pow value of ≥ 3.3). This value is considered less reliable than the value determined with the slow stirring method. Also the log Pow obtained with the slow stirring method is supported by calculations: by applying the KOWWIN Program (v1.67) in the US EPA 2009 Estimation Programs Interface (EPI) SuiteTM, the calculated log Kow for 2 main constituents of the solid content of the registered substance was -2.72 and the calculated log Kow for 2 other main constituents was -1.13.
