Additional information

The test substance is not likely to degrade abiotically via hydrolysis but will be broken down rapidly in both fresh and sea water by bacteria (‘readily biodegradable’ in freshwater and ‘has the potential for biodegradation’ in the marine environment). Given its composition, only the formate anion of cesium formate is degraded. As an atom, the cesium cation remains unaffected by bacterial action.
