Executive summary:

The IC50 of the test substance was determined in a respiration inhibition test performed according to OECD TEST Method 209, April 1984, corresponding to ETAD-Method No.103 under GLP. In this study, a mixed culture of bacteria (sludge of a Husman apparatus) was exposed to 1, 3.2, 10, 32 and 100 mg of test substance/L for 3 hours. The test substance had no significant inhibitory effect (<15%) on the respiration rate of activated sludge after the incubation period of 3 hours, on the test conditions. Based on the study results, IC50 was estimated to be >100 mg/L.

Description of key information

The IC50 of the test substance was determined in a respiration inhibition test performed according to OECD TEST Method 209, April 1984, corresponding to ETAD-Method No.103 under GLP. In this study, a mixed culture of bacteria (sludge of a Husman apparatus) was exposed to 1, 3.2, 10, 32 and 100 mg of test substance/L for 3 hours. The test substance had no significant inhibitory effect (<15 %) on the respiration rate of activated sludge after the incubation period of 3 hours, on the test conditions. Based on the study results, IC50 was estimated to be >100 mg/L.
