The substance showed 80% degradation within 28 days in a ready biodegradability test. Therefore the substance can be considered as readily biodegradable and not persistent in the environment.

Furthermore hydrolysis may contribute to the degradation of the substance in the environment, but the rate of abiotic degradation is significantly depending on the starting concentration of the substance and therefore cannot be estimated for general environmental conditions.

A log Koc value of 3.57 (QSPR estimation) indicate that the substance is only slightly mobile in soil and sediments according to the classification scheme of McCall et al. (1981).

Furthermore, it is assumed that the substance evaporates from water surfaces under environmental conditions due to its high Henry’s Law constant (608 Pa · m3/mol at 25°C).

The calculated BCFs of the substance are 504 L/kg and 1622 L/kg, respectively. The B criterion is not fulfilled for the substance 3,5,5-trimethylhexyl acetate and thus, the substance is considered to be not bioaccumulative.
