Studies on the BPA 2PO show the substance to be inherently or ultimately biodegradable. A study on BPA 5PO showed an unrealistically high rate of biodegradation and so this study was disregarded.

Degradation products have not been identified during the degradation tests but that BPA can be considered as a potential degradation product.
