Additional information

The substance is not biodegradable, neither in a ready test nor in an inherent test. Hydrolysis in pure water is hindered by thin layer of polyureas which protect the substance from further hydrolysis. Using however a higher amount of solubiliser, hydrolysis occurs fast within a half life of one day. In tests with 1 % modifier and 2 mg/L of IPDI allophanate the half life of about 2 hours at 23 °C was found. During hydrolysis oligomeric and polymeric ureas are formed. Based on this information, bioaccumulation studies are waived. The (calculated) logKoc shows a high potential for adsorption to soil which however not occurs as the substance is either hydrolyses than adsorbed.
