Description of key information

Acute test results for freshwater algae, invertebrates and fish were as follows:

Scenedesmus subspicatus: 72 -h EbC50= >2.2 mg/L / 72-h ErC50= >2.2 mg/L

Daphnia magna: 48-h EC50= 0.286 mg/L;

Oryzias latipes: 48-h LC50= 1.84 mg/L;

Long-term reproduction study for freshwater

Daphnia magna long-term reproduction study (21 d); NOEC-value = 56.7 µg/L.

Acute test results for marine or estuarine water

Americamysis bahia: 96-h LC50= 0.0372 mg/L

Additional information

The long-term study on Daphnia magna was required within the Substance Evaluation (SEv) process in order to assess the properties of the test item and to decide whether it is toxic (T) in accordance with section 1 of Annex XIII of the REACH Regulation. Furthermore, this information was needed in order to derive Predicted No Effect Concentration (PNEC) for refinement of possible risks for the aquatic environment. Results with the NOEC-value of 56.7 µg /L on the reproductive output of Daphnia magna show that the substance is not toxic (not T).
