Description of key information

In the study of Evonik Stockhausen GmbH (2010) decahydronaphthalene showed no toxicity towards microorganisms of the activated sludge since 28% degradation was recorded within 14 days in the toxicity control preparations containing 100 mg decahydronaphthalene/L and 100 mg sodium benzoate/L. Therefore, under test conditions decahydronaphthalene is not assumed to be toxic or inhibitory to aquatic microorganisms and bacteria.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC10 or NOEC for microorganisms:
100 mg/L
