Additional information

The substance is not stable in water and rapidly hydrolyses in contact with water. The di-substituted component rapidly degrades to the mono-substituted component. The mono-substituted component hydrolysis rapidly, forming an acid and a di-alcohol. The half life of the two components is less than 4 hours.

Therefore all tests on aquatic toxicity were conducted with the product of hydrolysis of the test substance. For all trophic levels (fish, daphnia, algae) EC and LC50 values > 100 mg/l were determined. Therefore, the test substance is with high probability not acutely harmful to aquatic organisms.

No respiration inhibition up to a substance concentration of 1000 mg/L was detected in activated sludge
