Additional information

The main components of the substance are not stable in water. The mono- and di-substituted component respectively hydrolyse rapidly within 1 day at 25 °C and pH of 7 and higher. The half lives of the components increase at lower pH. At 25°C and a pH of 4 a half life of 8.68 days was determined for the mono-substituted component and a half life of 66.1 hours was detected for the di-substituted component (Safepharm Laboratories Ltd 2002a). The mono and di-substituted component and their products of hydrolysis are readily biodegradable. A degradation rate of 87 % was determined after 28 days in a guideline test following OECD 301B. An adsorption of the main components of the substance to soil or suspended matter is not expected. Due to the rapid hydrolysis of both components and the low log Koc of the products of hydrolysis the adsorption potential of the substance is expected to be low.
