Materials and methods

Test guideline
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
other: EC REGULATION No.440/2008 A.1
Principles of method if other than guideline:
The Melting point was determined according to “Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC)” in the COUNCIL REGULATION (EC) No 440/2008. PART A: METHODS FOR THE DETERMINATION OF PHYSICO-CHEMICAL PROPERTIES: A1. “MELTING/FREEZING TEMPERATURE”. The sample and the reference material are subjected to the same controlled temperature programme. The difference in energy input necessary to maintain identical temperatures between the sample and the reference material is recorded. When the sample undergoes a phase transition, the corresponding change of enthalpy gives a departure form the base line of the heat flow record.
