Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Short-term toxicity to fish:

The study does not need to be conducted because the substance is highly insoluble in water, hence indication that aquatic toxicity is unlikely to occur. The water solubility was determined to be < 2.5 µg/L forN, N’-[(methylimino)bis (trimethylene)]bis(oleamide).

Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates:

N, N’-[(methylimino)bis (trimethylene)]bis(oleamide) caused no effect to Daphnia magna up to the limit of solubility based on information from the related read-across substance N,N’[(methylimino)bis(trimethylene)]bis(stearamide).

48h-EC50: > 0.108 mg/L (measured, geometric mean)

Toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria:

N, N’-[(methylimino)bis (trimethylene)]bis(oleamide) caused no effects on growth rate of freshwater green algae up to the limit of solubility based on information from the related read-across substance N,N’[(methylimino)bis(trimethylene)]bis(stearamide).

72h-EC50 of > 0.1 mg/L (grow, nominal)

72h-NOEC of ≥ 0.1 mg/L (grow, nominal)

No effects on growth rate of freshwater green algae up to the limit of solubility

Toxicity to microorganisms:

Available data from a respiration Inhibition Test with activated sludge according to OECD Guideline No. 209 (2010) with N,N’-[(methylimino)bis(trimethylene)]bis(stearamide) were used to evaluate the toxicity to microorganisms of  N, N’-[(methylimino)bis(trimethylene)] bis(oleamide).

Based on this read-across information the 3h-NOEC for N, N’-[(methylimino)bis(trimethylene)] bis(oleamide) was considered to be 1000 mg/L.
