In the non-GLP study from Datta SC, Ray L (1988) 30 d old sprouts of Cassia sophera var. purpurea (also known as Senna sophera)
were sprayed 3 times with aqueous DCA solutions (neutralized to pH 7) in the range of 0.01, 0.1, 1.0, 10, 100, 500 mg/l. Afterwards, number, weight and germination capacity produced by the plants emerged from the treated seeds were measured. Number, weight and germination capacity produced by the plants emerged from the treated seeds increased with the DCA concentration used. Hence, no adverse effects were observed in Cassia sophera var. purpurea under the test conditions.
Due to the limited informationon method, this study is considered to be of limited relevance for the risk assessment of DCA.
