Check of the Pycnometer

The apparatus was checked by measuring of the volume of the reference sphere.

The check of the apparatus showed that the instrument worked correctly and was fit for purpose.

Sample Measurement

The density of the test item was determined two times with individually prepared samples. Since the relative deviation between the two measurements was ≤ 0.5 %,the quality criteria of the measurement were fulfilled. The data, the mean of the densities, and its relative deviation are presented in Table 1 and Table 2.

The mean relative density of Propyl gallate (Propyl-3,4,5-trihydroxybenzoate) was determined to be 1.3541 at 20°C relating to the nominal density of water at 4 °C (0.999972 g/cm3).
