Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
particle size distribution (granulometry)
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2016-06-23
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: testing strategy in accordance with ECHA Guidance R.7a, R.7.1-6
Remarks:
not performed according to GLP
Qualifier:
no guideline required
Version / remarks:
Product form of test item is prills , thus sieving is appropiate.
Principles of method if other than guideline:
- Principle of test: Measurment of grain size distribution by sieving.
- Short description of test conditions: Sieving with sieves from 2.5 mm to 100 µm
- Parameters analysed / observed: Grain size distribution for fractions > 2.5 mm to < 100 µm
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
sieving

Description of key information

Low dust content.

Different batches have been assessed and it is apparent that different ways of handling the dried material during manufacture can lead to different particle sizes.

This endpoint is therefore not necessarily representative of all production grades from all manufacturers, and it is recommended that different suppliers check their grades as part of quality control processes.
