Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Properties of the substance applied for testing:

- is defined as a UVCB;

- is not a single entity but is a mixture of reaction products of mink oil, DMAPA and ethylene chlorohydrin in propylene glycol (PG);

- includes amide and ester groups (possibly from a side reaction with PG), as well as quaternized and non-quaternized dimethylamino groups;

- contains no unreacted DMAPA or ethylene chlorohydrin carbon as these are failing in the NMR spectrum;

- the sample for testing for phys-chem properties is a 60% solution in PG, because it is not possible to separate the PG from the substance without changing the composition.

Additional information

Instead of water solubility, the critical micelle concentration (CMC) of the test item in water was determined as the test item proved to be surface active. Partition coefficient was estimated > 3.4. Vapour presssure was estimated to correspond with the vapour pressure of propylene glycol. Flash point was determined at 105 °C and decomposition appeared at temperatures > 125 °C.
