Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

1.FR-522 is not considered readily biodegradable
2. FR-522 is inherently biodegradable

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
inherently biodegradable

Additional information

FR-522 is biodegradable under aerobic conditions at concentrations of 200 mg/L. Enriched soil inocula were capable of degrading 44% of the FR-522 during 33 days and 100% during the same period when supplied with additional carbon sources (yeast extract) as described in the paper of Segev et.al. which emphasize the ability of the substance to undergo biodegradation.
